Terms of Use

Last updated: 31 August 2026

These Terms of Use (“Terms”) govern your use of the Crystalo app (“the App”). By downloading or using the App, you agree to these Terms and to the Apple Standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement (apple.com/legal/internet-services/itunes/dev/stdeula), which applies in addition to these Terms.

1. The App

Crystalo is a personal focus and digital wellbeing app for iPhone, iPad, Mac and Apple Watch. It helps you run focus sessions, unearth a virtual crystal specimen, meditate, and optionally block distracting apps on your own device using Apple’s Screen Time (Family Controls) frameworks. Blocking exists on iPhone and iPad only, since those frameworks do not exist elsewhere. Crystalo is a wellbeing aid, not a medical, therapeutic, or productivity-guarantee product.

2. License

Subject to these Terms and the Apple Standard EULA, you are granted a personal, non‑transferable, non‑exclusive license to use the App on Apple devices you own or control, as permitted by the App Store Terms of Service.

3. Crystalo Pro

The App is free to use. Crystalo Pro unlocks the crystal species beyond the free one and the Pro meditation programs, and is sold in four forms:

Unused free-trial time, if any, is forfeited when you purchase a subscription. If a Crystalo build is published for another store in future, that store’s prices and terms apply to purchases made there, and access bought in one store does not transfer to the other.

4. Your account

The App works without an account, and most of it always will. An account is required for two features: team leaderboards and invite rewards. You can create one with Sign in with Apple, Google or an email link.

5. Teams and what you name things

Inside a team, other members see the handle and display name you chose and your focus totals. You are responsible for what you type into those fields and into team names, and you agree not to use them for anything unlawful, hateful, sexual, deceptive or aimed at harassing someone.

Teams are private and joined by invite code. There is no public profile directory and no global leaderboard. The App has a report control on teams, and we may remove a name, a team or an account over a report or on our own review, without being able to promise any particular response time.

6. Invites and gifted Pro days

Your personal invite code gives 14 days of Crystalo Pro to the person who redeems it and 14 days to you, for up to ten redemptions. Both people have to be signed in, and a code can be redeemed once per account.

7. Acceptable use

You agree not to misuse the App, reverse-engineer it except as permitted by law, attempt to reach other users’ data, or use it in any unlawful way.

8. Screen Time and blocking

App-blocking features rely on Apple’s Family Controls frameworks in individual mode and apply only to your own device, under your control. Blocking is a self-imposed aid. It is not guaranteed to be unbypassable, it is not a parental control, and it should not be relied upon as a safety control.

The Deep Focus difficulty deliberately makes quitting harder and destroys the specimen the session was opening. That is the intended behaviour of the mode you selected, not a fault, and lost specimens are not restored.

9. Disclaimer and limitation of liability

The App is provided “as is” without warranties of any kind, to the maximum extent permitted by law. To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect or consequential damages arising from your use of the App. Nothing in these Terms limits rights that cannot be limited under applicable consumer law.

10. Changes

We may update these Terms as the App evolves; the “Last updated” date reflects the current version. Continuing to use the App after a change means you accept it, and if you do not, you can stop using the App and delete your account.
