Coming soon to iOS

Focus long enough
and the rock comes away.

The specimen is already there, sealed in stone. A dig takes the rock off it course by course, and what you unearth stays in your Grotto.

A Screen Time companion for iPhone. No ads, no tracking, no account needed to use it.

How it works

Nothing grows here. Something gets uncovered.

The idle screen shows a sealed rock face with the species emblem cut into it. The stone behind it is whole from the first second, and the only thing your dig changes is how much rock is still in the way.

01

Set the dig

Pick a length and the apps to shut out. iOS enforces the block from that point on, not Crystalo.

02

The rock comes away

Eight courses of stone leave the face as the timer runs, each after a tremor you can see. The specimen behind them never moves.

03

It goes to the Grotto

The last course leaves, the stone stands in the open, and it keeps the date, length and clarity of the dig that opened it.

The Grotto

Twelve species to unearth

Each species has its own colour, its own emblem cut into the rock and its own ore vein threading the face, so you know what is behind the stone long before you see it. You pick the species before the dig starts. What the dig decides is rarity.

Why Crystalo

Built to hold the line

🛡️

The system does the blocking

Apple's Screen Time draws the shield, so force quitting Crystalo lifts nothing. The picker also hands the app opaque tokens, so it never learns which apps you chose.

💠

A stone that can break

Deep Focus has no stop button. Quitting means holding a gesture through a warning, and the specimen cracks on screen instead of quietly disappearing.

🕯️

One cave, not a scoreboard

Everything you unearth stands in the same grotto wall. Nothing expires, nothing has to be checked daily to stay yours.

What’s inside

One app for the whole ritual

The dig is the core, but the day around it matters too. Everything below is built and running in the app today.

⏱️ Digs that fit the work

25, 50 or 90 minutes, or a Pomodoro chain whose work and rest cycles fold into one specimen. Three difficulties, and Deep Focus cracks the stone if you walk away.

🛡️ Blocking that holds on its own

Shield apps, categories and websites for the dig, or set recurring schedules and daily time limits that run whether Crystalo is open or not. While a dig runs, the app cannot be deleted to escape it.

📓 A record that counts the misses

Abandon a dig after a minute and it still goes in the log as an abandoned one. Streaks and milestones only count finished digs, so the numbers stay worth something.

🌬️ Breathwork and meditation

Thirteen programs on four breathing patterns (Box, Coherent, 4‑7‑8, Energize), plus three multi‑day journeys: 7 Days to Deep Focus, 10 Days to Calmer Evenings, 5 Days to Steadier Breath.

🎧 Sound made on the spot

Five soundscapes and six music beds are synthesized on the device, so no two digs sound quite alike. Prefer your own? Play an Apple Music playlist instead.

📊 A daily Clarity Score

One number from 0 to 100, weighing what you finished, how clean it was, how long you went and how consistent you have been. A weekly report and a 30‑day trend sit behind it.

🔥 Streaks with room to rest

A day streak that doesn’t punish a life. Dig regularly and you bank grace days, so a single missed day bridges instead of resetting you to zero.

💎 Twelve species, five rarities

Amethyst is free; the rest arrive with Pro or as a milestone reward. Length, clarity and luck set the rarity of what you unearth, and a rare roll drops a Nebula instead of the species you chose.

🕯️ A collection worth opening

Browse the Grotto as a grid, or as the Living Cave: one cave wall built from everything you have unearthed. Any specimen turns in 3D and shares as a card.

📱 Lock Screen, Siri and the wrist

Widgets and a Live Activity carry the dig minute by minute while the phone is away. Start one from Control Center or by asking Siri. The Watch app runs its own digs and breathing, though blocking stays on the phone.

❤️ Talks to Apple Health

Finished breathing is written as Mindful Minutes, and last night’s sleep shows up next to your focus so the picture is whole.

☁️ Syncs before you sign in

iPhone, iPad and Mac stay in step through your own private iCloud, with no Crystalo login involved. Signing in is optional and buys exactly two things: teams and invites.

Optional sign-in

👥 Teams and invites

Create or join a team with a code and see a leaderboard for that team alone. Your invite code pays 14 days of Pro to whoever redeems it and 14 days to you, for up to ten people.

🔋 Kind to the battery

The idle screen mounts no animation at all, and long digs are pinned to 30 fps. Battery Saver trades motion for a cooler phone, and Stealth strips the screen to near‑black when you want nothing at all.

Questions

What people ask first

Does Crystalo need an account?

Not to use it. Digs, specimens and settings live on the device and sync between your iPhone, iPad and Mac through your own private iCloud, which needs no Crystalo login. Signing in with Apple, Google or an email link is optional, and it exists for two features: teams and invite rewards. You can delete that account from inside the app.

Can Crystalo see which apps I block?

No. The app picker is drawn by iOS in a separate process and hands back opaque tokens rather than names or bundle identifiers. Crystalo can count how many things you blocked and compare one token to another, but it cannot read what they are. How that works in detail.

What happens if I quit a dig early?

In Deep Focus there is no visible stop button. Quitting means holding a gesture for three seconds past a warning, and then the specimen cracks on screen and the attempt is logged as an abandoned dig. In the other two difficulties nothing breaks, but any dig you drop after a minute is still written down.

Does the blocking work on Mac or Apple Watch?

No. Screen Time blocking is an iPhone and iPad framework, so the Mac build carries the collection, statistics and iCloud sync while blocking nothing at all. The Watch app runs its own digs and breathing programs on the wrist, also without blocking. Shields only exist where iOS can enforce them.

Is Crystalo free?

Blocking, digs, schedules, limits, the statistics and the Grotto work without paying. Amethyst is the free species. Pro opens the other eleven, plus the Pro meditation programs, and there is one paywall shown automatically, right after the first specimen you unearth. Invite codes pay Pro days to both sides.
